Nushka Levysohn (1991).
Works with performance, text, video, and installation.
Works and lives in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
Through movement, text, and sound Levysohn works with, and researches through, the human body.
Levysohn’s practice is dedicated to attempts at aligning the mind with the body by means of physical quasi-meditative exercises.
Frequently returning themes, such as depersonalization, are being examined and processed through circular, durational actions and the creation of repetitious rhythmic patterns.
Though a narrative is often to be found in the work, the focus lies primarily on the experience of the act itself whilst being performed set within the parameters of space and time, making the work almost ephemeral.
